Bushings control steering gear position and provide isolation of vibration between steering gear and vehicle mounting points. These types of bushings are designed to also take gear resonance into consideration, as gear resonance can be a substantial noise issue. They can be conventional natural rubber, or in extreme cases, Hydro Bushings.
